Integrated Communications Intern
Location: Northeast Minneapolis (In-Office)
Dates: Early June (June 1, 2026 start, approximate) through Mid-August 2026
Schedule: Up to 20-30 hours/week
Compensation: Paid Internship
The Integrated Communications Intern will support Linnihan Foy’s work at the intersection of public relations, organic social media, and influencer marketing. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on agency experience, sharpen their writing and content skills, learn how earned media and social media can work together to build awareness and engagement, and weigh in on the prudent use of AI to streamline workflows.
This role is designed for someone who is both creative and organized—someone who enjoys generating content ideas and understands the importance of detail-oriented work behind the scenes.
The intern will work in-office in our NE Minneapolis location and will collaborate with members of our PR, social media, and influencer marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Organic Social Media Support and Ideation
- Assist with the development of organic social media plans and content
- Help brainstorm and draft social media concepts and content
- Help repurpose PR wins and earned media placements into social-friendly content
- Monitor social media performance and engagement trends and contribute insights and recommendations
- Explore and experiment with AI powered creative tools that could streamline, support and/or supplement social media content creation.
Public Relations Support
- Assist with administrative and coordination tasks related to PR campaigns and client communications
- Conduct research to support story development
- Build and maintain media lists and pitch lists
- Support pitching efforts by helping draft pitch language and media angles
- Assist with PR reporting, including coverage tracking and recap reporting
- Help maintain internal PR tracking documents and campaign timelines
Influencer Marketing Support
- Research potential influencer, ambassador, and creator partners aligned with client goals
- Assist with influencer vetting and evaluation
- Support outreach preparation and communication tracking
- Assist with influencer reporting and campaign recap summaries
- Help maintain influencer databases and tracking sheets
AI-Enabled Workflow Support
- Use AI tools to support research, summarization, and first-draft writing
- Help create repeatable templates or prompt frameworks for internal use
- Support quality control to ensure AI-assisted outputs are accurate, on-brand, and polished
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or nearing completion) in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Ideal candidates include Spring 2026 graduates or professionals with 0–1.5 years of relevant experience
- Strong writing skills and understanding of brand voice and tone
- Familiarity with major social media platforms
- Interest in earned media and PR storytelling
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Confidence conducting online research and synthesizing information clearly
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and reporting documents
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week, in-office in Northeast Minneapolis
- Ability to work for the full internship period (early June through mid-August)
- Interest in and experience using AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating or managing content for a brand or organization
- Familiarity with media databases or PR tools
- Basic understanding of influencer marketing metrics
- Experience using Canva, Adobe tools, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with social scheduling tools
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience in communications or marketing
